Protecting a child from the heat in the car in summer: the case of Justine
Tinted film: protecting your child from the heat
In midsummer, the heat can quickly turn your car into a furnace. The steering wheel becomes hot, the air unbreathable and the driving... uncomfortable. But beyond your own comfort, this heat can be dangerous for your child, even on a short journey.
So how do you keep your interior fresh and pleasant? The solution is the Variance Auto tinted film kit!

The issue
Heat in the car isn't just a question of comfort, it's also a real safety issue, especially for children. Here are the main difficulties encountered:
- Extreme cabin temperatures: in summer, the interior of a car parked in the sun can reach 50-60°C in just a few minutes.
- Reduced driving comfort: hot steering wheel, stifling seats, seat belts that are difficult to manipulate... everything becomes unpleasant.
- Children's fragile health: their bodies are less able to regulate heat than those of adults, exposing them to the risk of dehydration and heatstroke.
- Glare: the sun's rays hitting the eyes of a child sitting in the rear seat can be annoying and tiring.
- Harmful UV rays: even through glass, UV rays penetrate and can damage the delicate skin of even the youngest children.
- Aesthetics and privacy: the car appears "glazed" and impersonal, with no particular style, and everything is visible from the outside.
In short, when you want to combine protection, comfort and looks, a simple sunshade just won't do.

The Variance Auto solution: tinted film
That's exactly what Justine, mother of a little boy, discovered. To protect her child and make her journeys more pleasant, she chose a tinted window kit. Variance Auto.
Here are the films she used:
- Both front windows: Extreme clear solar film 70 - lets in plenty of light while filtering out heat and UV rays
- Both rear windows: Medium solar film plus 15 - perfect balance between visibility and solar protection
- Rear window: Dark 5 solar film - for real privacy and a sporty look.
Result: for €160, Justine got a fresher, more stylish and, above all, much more comfortable car for her son.
She installed her own tinted glass kit. You don't need to be a bodybuilder to do it: with a little patience, attention to detail and our advice, installation is child's play 😉.
Good to know: current regulations. In France, front windows must let at least 70% of light through (hence the choice of clear 70 film). For rear windows and the rear window, you have carte blanche.

Our tips for installing a tinted window kit
If, like Justine, you'd like to try a tinted film kit, here are the keys to successful installation:
1. Equipment required
- A scraper
- A precision cutter
- Soapy water
- A clean microfiber cloth
- A hair dryer or heat gun
2. The ideal environment
- A shaded surface, free of dust and wind.
- Moderate temperature (between 20 and 25°C).
- A clean, well-degreased car (useisopropyl alcohol for the windows).
3. Installation steps
- Thoroughly clean the glass, including the edges
- Cut the film to size, leaving a small margin.
- Spray soapy water on the glass and on the adhesive side of the film
- Apply the film in the correct position
- Roll from the center outwards to remove water and bubbles.
- Gently heat the film to allow it to conform perfectly to the shape of the glass.
- Cut off any excess with a cutter.
And that's it! With a little practice, the result is clean, long-lasting and worthy of a pro 💪
Thanks to her tinted window kit, Justine was able to effectively protect her child from heat, UV and glare, while giving her car an elegant look. What's more, anyone can install it, provided they're careful and well-equipped. Tinted film is the perfect combo of comfort, safety and style for your summer journeys.
