When choosing a kit from wrapping, you will sometimes be offered a choice between 2 types of finish: 2D or 3D. These wrapping films are almost identical in appearance, but there are a few subtle differences.

For flat surfaces: The wrapping 2D
2D film is a wrapping entry-level film, particularly popular for partial wrapping, for flat or slightly curved surfaces. It's ideal for wrapping certain hoods or roofs, depending on the vehicle model.
This is because their composition makes them almost impervious to thermoforming.
In fact, the film will warp badly under heat. It will not adapt properly to
different shapes of the car: it's going to be very difficult to apply!
In terms of quality, wrapping 2D will do its job perfectly to spice up your vehicle. The coating remains high quality, and the adhesive adheres well to your bodywork over the long term.
It's ideal for partialwrapping like strips!

For curved surfaces: The wrapping 3D
As a general rule, we recommend that you use wrapping 3D for other parts of your vehicle.
This finish from wrapping is suitable for customizing fenders, bumpers, mirrors - and even total wrapping!
Thanks to their sensitivity to thermoforming, they adapt easily to any shape, even the most curvaceous!
To make wrapping conform to the shape of the substrate, the film must be heated with a heat gun. This is the action that will easily thermoform your coating.

What's the price difference between wrapping 3D and 2D?
For a wrapping 2D, expect to pay between €10 and €20 per m²*.
This price does not include installation. It includes the price of wrapping, the workshop and delivery services to bring it to your home.
For a wrapping 3D, go for €19 to €60 per m²*.
As with wrapping , installation is not included. Installation requires additional, usually specialized, labor, which will add several hundred euros to your budget wrapping.
The price difference seems higher for 3D, which is understandable. The technology used in this product makes it possible to create wrapping with greater impact and sophistication.
