How can I install tinted windows without pillars on my car?
Tips and tricks for successful application of tinted films if your vehicle model has no window pillars
Do you own a Tesla, a Peugeot 308CC, a Volkswagen Passat CC, a Ford Focus CC, etc., and would like to apply our pre-cut and thermoformed tinted window kit? We invite you to read this article, as there are a few differences compared to conventional window installation with uprights.
Step 1: Learn about the "classic" installation of our tinted window kit
To successfully install tinted window film without studs, start with a thorough cleaning. For further advice, please see the "How do I install my tinted window kit?" tutorial below.
The main tip
- Open the door and hook the strike plate with a screwdriver to raise the glass.
- Remove the protective film and moisten the film.
- Place the film on the bottom of the glass and slide it to within 1mm of the top, at the rounding of the glass.
- Pass it through the joint at the bottom of the glass. Once the film is in position, start to roll it on.
Caution: remember to open the door by pulling the handle after installation AND before closing the door!
