Film from Paint protection film to camouflage dents on a car

Film from Paint protection film, also known as Paint Protect Film, or PPF, is a good solution for preventing impacts, shocks and scratches, but also for camouflaging them. The main purpose of this transparent film is to preserve your vehicle's paintwork and bodywork. In the event of impacts or shocks, these are attenuated. If your bodywork already presents these problems, by applying PPF, you'll reduce their aggravation.

In addition to preserving the original paintwork and preventing scratches and dents, a PPF has another advantage: it protects against the weather conditions that can damage your vehicle. By acting as a protective barrier, a PPF will reduce damage caused by rain, snow, wind and all other climatic hazards.

The installation of Paint protection film

There's nothing tricky about applying film from Paint protection film. Just follow four simple steps and you're done.

The first step is to thoroughly clean your vehicle, paying particular attention to the surface where the PPF film will be applied. To do this, use a soft, clean cloth and a solution of isopropyl alcohol. The aim is to remove all traces of grease from your surface and its nooks and crannies.

Then, the second step is to lay a cutting wire to delimit the area where the PPF film will be laid.

Now it's time to apply your PPF film. Using a soapy solution sprayed onto your surface and the PPF film, then a squeegee, PPF installation has never been so easy. Once you've positioned the film on your surface, squeegee from the center to the edges to remove the soapy water.

The last step is to remove the cutting wire previously in place. Still using your squeegee, press down on the wire, then pull it out while holding it against your bodywork. It's possible that a few centimetres of film may protrude from your bodywork. If so, simply cut them off with a cutter.

Headlight film to camouflage dents on a car

Headlight film, as the name suggests, is applied to your vehicle's headlights. Transparent or colored, this film protects your headlights from damage caused by third parties or others. It acts as a protective barrier, while preventing existing impacts from getting worse.

Like PPF film, headlight film has another advantage. This is that it preserves the original appearance of your headlights. In fact, over time, your headlights can become tinted with a yellowish film due to UV rays and bad weather. To protect your vehicle, installing a headlight film is the best solution. What's more, it keeps your headlights clear and visible.

Applying headlamp film

Headlight film can be applied in two different ways: dry or with soapy water. Whichever method you choose, there are a few precautions to bear in mind:

  • Place your vehicle in a wind- and dust-free area with a minimum temperature of 10°C ;
  • Clean your headlamps thoroughly withsoapy water and a sponge;
  • Apply your headlamp film using the method of your choice: dry or soapy water;
  • Cut off the excess film with a new cutter.
