What is a PPF film?
Paint protection film film, or PPF, is a transparent or colored film designed to preserve a vehicle's paintwork and bodywork. Indeed, these are subject to many hazards. PPF film application
Just like wrapping, headlamp film or tinted window film, PPF is easy to apply. Anyone can do it, provided a few conditions are met.
Perfectly clean bodywork
This is the most important step in applying PPF film. Armed with a soft cloth and an isopropyl alcohol solution, you need to make sure that all dust, residues and other substances disappear from your bodywork. This solution is perfect for stripping and degreasing bodywork.

Installing a cutting wire
Before applying PPF film, we recommend that you install a cutting film for wrapping. The reason is quite simple. The cutting wire is used to delimit the location of the PPF.

The long-awaited moment has arrived! There's nothing tricky about applying PPF film. Simply flood the surface to be coated with the film withsoapy water. Then do the same on the glued side of the PPF film. Once you've completed these two steps, you can position the film on the bodywork and apply the adhesive with a squeegee. Squeegee the film from the center to the edge, so that the soapy water runs off perfectly.

Finishing touches
Your PPF film is finally in place, but it doesn't end there. All you have to do is remove the cutting wire. To do this, simply press down on the wire to improve its grip during removal. Next, pull on the cutting wire while holding it firmly against the bodywork. That's it! Your cutting wire is a distant memory.
Finally, if you haven't opted for a complete kit, use a cutter to remove the liner and any protruding edges.

The price of a PPF film
Like the installation of a wrapping or tinted windows, the installation of a PPF is not free of charge. There are two solutions:
- Call in a professional. This is an option if you don't feel up to installing your PPF film yourself. However, it does come at a price, up to €1,500 for a complete film;
- Install your PPF Variance Auto yourself. As explained above, there's nothing difficult about installing PPF film. You can do it yourself. All you'll need is your film and installation accessories.
