The Paint protection film car film
As the name suggests, the main purpose of a Paint protection film film, also known as PPF, is to protect your car's bodywork, but that's not all! Let's find out together what a film from Paint protection film is, its advantages, how to apply it and much more.
What is a film from Paint protection film ?
A film from Paint protection film or PPF is a transparent or colored film designed to preserve a vehicle's paintwork and bodywork. Indeed, these are subject to many hazards. The application of PPF film is not subject to any government regulations. The installation of Paint protection film film is a durable solution. It can be applied to the entire body, or just one area of the vehicle, such as mirrors, bumpers or door handles.
PPF film keeps your vehicle looking like new for longer. But that's not its only advantage.
The advantages of Paint protection film
There are many advantages to using Paint protection film film. Here are the main advantages
- Preserving the shine of your car's paintwork: our PPF films Variance Auto films combine two features. The first is its anti-UV action, while the second is its anti-yellowing action. As a result, on the day you wish to remove your film from Paint protection film, your paintwork will be as intact as on the first day;
- Weather protection: rain, snow, wind, animals and other hazards can cause damage to your vehicle. By applying PPF film, you add an extra layer of protection to your vehicle. As a result, this new protective barrier keeps your vehicle's bodywork and paintwork safe from damage;
- Protection against scratches and dents: it goes without saying that door bumps, splashes and other impacts, whether unintentional or not, are a dreaded problem for all drivers. To alleviate these inconveniences, a film from Paint protection film is the perfect solution. Shocks, scratches and blows are attenuated by the film;
- Changing the look of your car: as mentioned above, at Variance Auto we offer both clear and colored PPF films. For those wishing to change the appearance of their vehicle, a colored PPF film is ideal. Like the wrappingit's theideal alternative to paint.
The installation of Paint protection film
Just like wrapping, headlamp film or tinted window film, Paint protection film is easy to install. Anyone can do it, provided a few conditions are met.
Perfectly clean bodywork
This is the most important step in applying PPF film. Armed with a soft cloth and an isopropyl alcohol solution, you need to make sure that all dust, residues and other substances disappear from your bodywork. This solution is perfect for stripping and degreasing bodywork.

Installing a cutting wire
Before installing the film at Paint protection film, we recommend that you install a cutting film at wrapping. The reason is quite simple. The cutting wire is used to delimit the location of the PPF.

Place the Paint protection film
The long-awaited moment has arrived! There's nothing tricky about applying the Paint protection film film. All you have to do is flood the surface where the film will be applied withsoapy water. Then do the same on the glued side of the PPF film. Once you've completed these two steps, you can position the film on the bodywork and apply the adhesive with a squeegee. Squeegee the film from the center to the edge, so that the soapy water runs off perfectly.

Finishing touches
Your Paint protection film film is finally in place, but it doesn't end there. All that's left to do is remove the cutting wire. To do this, simply press down on the wire to improve its grip when removed. Next, pull on the cutting wire while holding it firmly against the bodywork. That's it! Your cutting wire is a distant memory.
Finally, if you haven't opted for a complete kit, use a cutter to remove the liner and any protruding edges.
Your PPF film is now installed.
