Installation tutorial for wrapping

Regardless of the type of wrapping you would like, a total or partial wrapping , there are a few rules to follow: 

  • Thoroughly clean the surface to be equipped and its contours;
  • Pre-cut your film from wrapping ;
  • Remove the protective liner;
  • Apply the adhesive part of the wrapping film to the surface;
  • Unroll the liner gently but firmly;
  • Heat the raised areas of your bodywork with a heat gun;
  • Stamp your film with wrapping from the center outwards to remove air bubbles;
  • Proceed with the finishing touches.

Tinted window film installation tutorial

Whether you opt for an electrostatic or adhesive tinted window kit, installing it on your car requires a few precautions: 

  • Clean both sides of your windows with soapy water;
  • Apply two pieces of tape to the film liner;
  • Spray your film with soapy water while peeling the liner from the film by pulling gently on the pieces of tape; 
  • Flood the surface where the film will be applied with soapy water once again;
  • Lower your window by about 3 cm;
  • Slide the film onto the glass, leaving a gap of about 2 mm from the rounding of the glass;
  • Mould from the center outwards and horizontally;
  • Refit your window;
  • Push the joint spacers onto the glass to allow the film to pass through;
  • Squeegee inside the joint; 
  • Wrap the squeegee in absorbent paper and run it over the film from the center to the end.

Installation tutorial for Paint protection film

You've chosen Paint protection film to protect your windows from impact and shock. Anyone can install a film at Paint protection film , as long as a few precautions are taken, including : 

  • Meticulous, thorough cleaning of your bodywork;
  • Installation of a cutting wire at the edge of the surface where the film will be applied;
  • Removal of the protective film liner ;
  • Apply the Paint protection film film with soapy water; 
  • Marouflage from the center to the edges; 
  • Removing the cutting wire ;
  • Cutting out superfluous parts of the film.

Installation tutorial for lighthouse film

It's the easy, economical way to tint your car lights. At Variance Autowe offer two types of headlamp film application: dry or wet. In both cases, there are certain rules to follow: 

  • Measure the width and height of your headlight;
  • Thoroughly clean headlights and surrounds;
  • Remove the two protective liners;
  • Apply the headlamp film according to the chosen position, starting from the outside and working inwards;
  • Heat the film and roll up;
  • Cut and remove excess film with a cutter;
  • Finish by heating and troweling one last time.

How to lay marker film

A marking strip allows road users to spot a vehicle up to 500 meters away. There's nothing complicated about installing road marking film: 

  • Thoroughly clean the surface where the film will be applied; 
  • Apply the film either with soapy water or with special bodywork tape;
  • Proceed with the finishing touches.

How to install wrapping on a bumper

There's nothing tricky about applying wrapping film to a bumper. All you need is the right technique and the right equipment.

  • Check the installation conditions;
  • Clean your vehicle thoroughly before fitting;
  • Install the cutting wire on the edges of the bumper;
  • Apply your wrapping to the bodywork;
  • Heat your film wrapping to adapt to the curves;
  • If necessary, cut wrapping to reveal the radars and cameras;
  • Remove the cutting wire and clear the excess wrapping.

How to install wrapping on a rear-view mirror

If you'd like to give your car's mirrors a makeover using film from wrapping, you've come to the right place! It's a bit technical, but it's possible for ordinary people like you.

  • Clean and degrease the surface;
  • Prepare your wrapping by heating it;
  • Apply your wrapping to the mirror;
  • Cut off the excess wrapping.

How to install wrapping on a hood

Installing a wrapping on a car hood may seem fairly straightforward. However, there are a number of steps that must be taken to ensure successful installation.

  • Clean the body thoroughly;
  • Remove the brand logo for a smooth hood;
  • Center the wrapping film on the hood;
  • Apply the first side of the cover, without pressing;
  • Apply the second part of wrapping ;
  • Reposition the wrapping if necessary;
  • Warm up your wrapping so that it adheres well to the hood;
  • Stencil from the center outwards;
  • Apply wrapping to the edges, pressing down;
  • Just before cutting, warm up your wrapping ;
  • Cut away excess film with a new blade;
  • Apply wrapping to the edges by lifting the cover.

How to apply tinted film on a rear window

Tinted window film can only be applied to a rear window. Let's take a closer look at how.

  • Clean your rear window properly;
  • Spray the entire glass surface with soapy water;
  • Separate the protective liner from the film using 2 pieces of scotch tape applied at an angle and facing each other;
  • Unroll the film by spraying it with soapy water;
  • Apply it to the bezel (wet side down); 
  • Stencil from the center of the glass to the outside;
  • Wrap the maroufle in a clean, dry cloth;
  • Gently press one last time to dry the glass and absorb the water.

How to apply tinted film on side windows

You have five options for the perfect installation of tinted window film on your side windows: 

  • With Yellow Contour soft squeegee;
  • With the "Reach" squeegee;
  • With spacer pallets ;
  • By dismantling the licker with the Hook Tool ;
  • By removing the door trim.

How to apply tinted film on a window frame

If one of your windows has a quarter panel, tinted window film can also be applied. As the surface is narrower, installation may be more tedious, but not impossible.

  • Prepare for film application by spraying the glass with soapy water and wiping with a wiper pad;
  • Spray the glass again with soapy water;
  • Separate the protective liner from the film using two pieces of scotch tape stuck at an angle while spraying with soapy water; 
  • Apply the film to the glass. The side of the film with the soapy water should be placed on the glass;
  • Stamp the surface from the inside out; 
  • Wrap the maroufle in a dry cloth and maroufle a second time to remove all the water.

How to apply headlight film to a taillight

  • Thoroughly clean headlights and surrounds;
  • Remove the protective liner by sticking two pieces of tape on each end;
  • Apply the headlamp film from the outside inwards;
  • Heat the film and roll up;
  • Cut and remove excess film with a cutter;
  • Finish by heating and troweling one last time.

How to apply headlight film to a front light

  • Clean headlamps and surrounds with soapy water;
  • Remove the protective liner by sticking two pieces of scotch tape on each end of a corner of the film;
  • Apply headlamp film from the outside in, stretching if necessary;
  • Heat the film and roll up;
  • Cut and remove the excess film with a cutter, placing it neatly in the gap between the headlight and the bodywork;
  • Heat and marouflez a last time.
