How to apply your wrapping ?
wrapping is a meticulous process that requires precision and patience. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you understand how to proceed to guarantee impeccable results. 🛠️✨
Step 1: Preparing the vehicle 🧼
First and foremost, it's essential to prepare the surface to be coated. This step is crucial to ensure perfect film adhesion.
- Thorough cleaning: The bodywork should be thoroughly washed to remove all traces of dirt, grease and residues. Use an isopropyl solution and a clean, soft cloth to ensure a perfectly clean surface;
- Removing imperfections: Remove any protection or stickers from your bodywork;
- Drying: Carefully dry your bodywork with a new, clean, soft cloth to avoid any traces of moisture under the film.
Step 2: Film application 🖌️
This is the key moment: your nimble hands apply the wrapping to your bodywork. For bubble- and crease-free results, follow our advice:
- Spray the soapy water solution on the surface to be wrapping and on the film. This makes it easy to position the film and prevents it from sticking immediately;
- Position the wrapping film gently on the bodywork, starting from the center and working towards the edges. To remove water and air bubbles from under the wrapping, use a flask;
- Thermoforming the film to fit the curves and corners of the vehicle. For this step, use either a hair dryer or a heat gun. This step makes your wrapping more malleable and ensures perfect adhesion to your bodywork;
- Trim excess film for a clean, professional finish using a cutter with a new blade.
Stage 3: Finishing and inspection 🔍
Once you've applied your film wrapping , make sure every detail is perfect.
- Drying: Your wrapping must dry for a few hours to ensure optimum adhesion;
- Visual inspection: Check for bubbles and creases. If so, press again.
💡Good to know: To make your wrapping last over time, here are a few tips to follow:
- Avoid washing your vehicle for the first 48 hours after application to ensure that the film adheres well to the bodywork;
- Use mild, non-abrasive detergents;
- Avoid high-pressure cleaners such as automatic rollers.
