How to protect your car in summer?
Protecting your vehicle in summer
The summer season is well under way, and you're probably wondering how to protect your car during this period. Heat reduction, impact protection and protection against premature yellowing are just some of the issues your car has to deal with. Find out in this article how best to protect it.
Tinted glass kit
As you know, summer can be a very hot time of year. By the time you get behind the wheel, the temperature inside your car is often unbearable. That's why opting for a tinted window kit, also known as a solar film kit, is a good solution. It has a number of advantages:
- Protect yourself from the heat: as mentioned above, by installing solar films on your car's windows, you'll reduce the penetration ofsolar energy into your vehicle. As a result, the temperature inside your car will be much less unbearable, enhancing your driving experience and that of your passengers;
- Reduce air-conditioning use: in connection with hot weather, you may be lucky enough to have air-conditioning in your car. In fact, it's one of the first things you do once you've settled into your seat: turn on the air conditioning. It's true that this is a good way of lowering the temperature inside the car. However, air conditioning is synonymous with fuel consumption and can sometimes make you ill. So, in addition to lowering the temperature, using a solar film kit willsave you fuel;
- Protecting yourself from UV rays: UV rays mean physical damage. UV rays can cause burns, skin aging and cancer. Sunscreen protects your health and that of your loved ones;
- Protect yourself against glass breakage: on the road on vacation, your car contains your suitcases and other valuables. To protect them, applying a solar film is a good solution. This will darken the interior of your car, making it more difficult to see your belongings. What's more, in the event of glass breakage, shards of glass will remain trapped in the film. As a result, you'll avoid injury.
At Variance Autoall our solar films comply with the current law, Decree 2016-448.
A film kit for headlights
If you want to personalize your car and protect it at the same time, a headlight film is the best solution. In fact, headlamp film has a number of important benefits for the summer season, including protection against premature headlamp yellowing. In contact with the sun and heat, your headlights can turn a yellowish color. This is a perfectly natural phenomenon, but it's not very attractive. That's why using a headlight film will slow down the yellowing process. What's more, you'll always be visible to other motorists, so you won't lose brightness, and therefore visibility. So you won't lose out on safety.
Like our solar film kits, our headlight films comply witharticle R-313 of the French Highway Code. This stipulates that your car's front lights must illuminate for at least 100 meters. The rear lights, for their part, must ensure good visibility of the brake lights and indicators for all road users.
A film kit from Paint protection film
Whether you're on the road or stationary, you're never safe from an impact. Whether the impact is meteorological or human, it's never pleasant to find your car damaged. By applying a film from Paint protection film, also known as PPF, you can protect your car from impacts and shocks. By opting for a PPF kit, you add a protective barrier to your car, allowing you to drive more serenely.
Other tips to protect your car in summer
In addition to installing a tinted window kit, headlamp film or PPF, there are a number of other things you can do to protect your car during the summer months:
- Use a sun visor on your windshield;
- Park in the shade as much as possible;
- Close the windows if you decide to use the air conditioning;
- Check your car's coolant levels before you leave. A low coolant level can lead to an increase in engine temperature, and therefore heat in the passenger compartment.
Now you know everything there is to know about protecting your car during the summer season. Your journeys should no longer be tedious, so get behind the wheel and hit the roads of France.
