Let's go back in time...

A breakthrough car that can be easily adapted
From the conception of the first Golf models, the objective was simple: to find a new impetus after the glorious Beetle epic. In this situation, Volkswagen trusted Giorgetto Guigiaro who had already been able to express his talent at Alfa Romeo, Fiat and within the German company with the first Passat.
In this respect, Volkswagen was not mistaken, because Giorgetto will be the author of one of the most striking models of the 80s with the DMC-12, better known as De Lorean. For the Golf, the success will be felt very quickly and the model will be declined in GTI and convertible version, at first. Also, this model will be transformed according to the regions where it will develop. We will note the mythical Rabbit MK1 for the USA and the Caribe in Mexico. Volkswagen, since the Beetle and the Combi, has very quickly understood the importance of customization while offering us a magnificent canvas for the wrapping.
